Yachad Annual Fundraiser

Voices from Israel-Palestine, Shaping the Moment Ahead

Tuesday 19th May, 6.30pm, London

Join us for Yachad’s Annual Fundraiser.

At a time when war and violence continue to devastate lives across Israel, Palestine and the wider Middle East, many in our community are feeling frightened, exhausted and unsure what comes next. Here in the UK too, Jewish life is being affected by rising polarisation, hostility and fear.

This year’s fundraiser will be an opportunity to hear directly from courageous Israelis and Palestinians confronting the realities of occupation and settler violence while continuing to work towards a better future. At a moment when nuance can feel harder to hold onto, bringing people together in person to listen, talk and reflect matters deeply.

Our Speakers:

Hamish Falconer is the UK Minister for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and MP for Lincoln. He previously worked as a diplomat. He will offer reflections on the political choices facing the region, and the role Britain can play.

A panel discussion will follow, featuring:

Avner Gvaryahu is an Israeli public figure and Advocacy Director at Ofek, the Israeli Center for Public Affairs. Formerly executive director of Breaking the Silence, he draws on his experience as a former soldier to confront the realities of occupation and foster honest public conversation about Israel's future.

Eid Hathaleen is a Palestinian community organiser from Umm al-Khair in the South Hebron Hills, who lives under the daily threat of settler violence and works tirelessly to document and communicate the experiences of Palestinian residents.

Alona Ferber is senior editor at Prospect. Her thoughtful journalism on Israel-Palestine and wider politics will help make this a particularly strong discussion, which she will host.
